Assem Marei's triple-double lands him Player of the Week award

Egyptian Center Assem Marei (206-C-1992) had an amazing evening in the last round for Changwon LG Sakers, receiving a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 6.
The 33-year old player recorded a triple-double of 21 points adding also 10 rebounds and 11 assists, while his team beat Xac Broncos (#2, 3-2) 98-83. The game was between two of the league's top four teams. Sakers maintains the 4th position in East Asia Super League . Too late to improve their position as they are currently ranked such low. They already lost 3 games and recorded just one victory. In the team's last game Marei had a remarkable 66.7% from 2-point range. He turned to be Sakers' top player in his first season with the team. Former Minnesota State University Mankato star has very solid stats this year. Marei is in league's top in rebounds (3rd best: 15.0rpg) and assists (5th best: 6.0apg).

The second best player in last round's games was young American Jason Washburn (213-C-1990, agency: Pensack Sports) of league's leader New Taipei Kings. Washburn had a very good evening with a double-double of 30 points and 10 rebounds. Of course he led Kings to another comfortable win 109-94 over Xac Broncos (3-2) being unquestionably team leader. It was definitely game of the week between two contenders to the title. Xac Broncos managed to tie with Kings at the very top position in the standings. His team has currently 3-2 record. Washburn is well-known at Kings and is a proven leader in his second season with the team.

Third on the list of top players last round was American forward Omoefay Johnson (206-F-1999, agency: Diamond Sports) of league's second-best Xac Broncos Ulaanbaatar. Johnson scored 29 points and grabbed 18 rebounds (!!!). Despite Johnson's great performance the Broncos lost 94-109 to #1 ranked Kings. But his team cannot count on just a single shooter as he also needs help of the other teammates especially in such crucial game. The last thing Xac Broncos needs is to lose another game like this one. They lose more and more distance to the top teams. Their record is 3 victories and 2 lost games. Johnson has a great season in East Asia Super League. After only 4 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 26.3ppg (4th best) and rebounds with 14.8rpg (4th best).
